The World's Easiest Rustic Apple Tart

The easiest dessert that ever was! We had a few Crown Orchard apples left over from last week and felt like doing a little baking so we put this beauty together for dessert.

It was a totally free form recipe so we're giving it to you just the way we made it. Feel free to switch things up to your taste...maybe add some chopped walnuts or use sugar instead of honey...whatever you like!

The World's Easiest Rustic Apple Tart

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

We rolled out defrosted puff pastry dough, on parchment paper,  into a rough circle a Next, peel and slice 3 or 4 apples. Lay them in the middle of the dough circle however you like. We kept the slices pretty close together. Leave about 2 inches of dough around the edges. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the apples. Drizzle with a tablespoon of honey or sprinkle some sugar over them. Sprinkle with some cinnamon...we used about a teaspoon. Cut a tablespoon of butter into little half inch cubes and dot the apples evenly with the butter. Put he the tart and the parchment paper in the oven on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake until dough is puffy and the apples are tender but not mushy. About 35 minutes.  You can also do this with pie crust dough...it's just a little less pastry-like. Excellent warm or at room temp. It slices beautifully!
