Spiced Pears with Pomegranate
This easy fruit dish sings with fall flavor. Top with sliced almonds or whipped cream for dessert or pair with a cheese selection as an appetizer!
What you'll need:
3 pears, peeled, cored and cut into wedges
Seeds of one pomegranate
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
optional: 2 tbsp sliced almonds or whipped cream
First, deseed your pomegranate. If you've never done it before, here are some tips.
Whisk honey and lemon juice in a small bowl. Place the sliced pears and pomegranate seeds in a large bowl, then toss with honey mixture to coat. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg, then sprinkle over fruit and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour prior to serving to allow flavors to blend. Serve with your topping of choice.
