A Lancaster Visit

I had a wonderful couple of days last week going on farm visits to some of the Amish farms we've been working with for the last 17 years. It is always an incredibly humbling experience to see the results of hard work and simple living. The picture above is from Daniel Byler's farm. It is a slice of heaven on earth. He grows asparagus, lots of tomatoes, carrots (those pretty carrots we brought you all winter were from Daniel's farm) squash and some corn. I'm working on a blog post about my visits, but I wanted to give you a little glimpse into Spring on the farm. Last time I was at Daniel's farm was in the summer and his youngest daughters were running through one of his tomato hothouses flapping their aprons to help pollinate the tomatoes. Old ways that work.
